Dogs Can Get Monkeypox

0

Cases of monkeypox have fallen substantially — a good thing. But the painful disease is still out there, and dogs can and do get it from people. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advise that anyone who come down with monkeypox should avoid contact with their pet. That means no petting, cuddling, hugging, kissing, or sharing of the bed until after the disease runs its course. Additionally, pets that have had close contact with a symptomatic person with monkeypox should be kept away from other animals and people for 21 days after the most recent contact.
