If your pet is overweight and you are trying to manage his calorie consumption, don’t automatically assume a dog food labeled “reduced-calorie” is low in calories. It just means that by law, it has to have fewer calories than the company’s standard food. If the standard version is very high in calories to begin with, the reduced-calorie alternative could still contain many more calories than could easily fit into your pet’s weight management plan.
