When Will It Be Your Dog’s Turn in the Emergency Room?

0

Something’s terribly wrong with your dog, and you take her to the off-hours emergency clinic. But how long will you sit there before she gets seen?

If the problem involves the heart, brain, or lungs, not very. Severe, immediately life-threatening illnesses almost always involve one of those three organs, and the initial assessment — triage — tends to focus on them. If any of them appears compromised, your dog is probably going to be whisked into an exam room. If it seems like it might be something like a bone fracture, on the other hand, you could be there a while depending on what else is going on.
