The American Kennel Club has recognized its 202nd dog breed—the Danish-Swedish farm dog. Cheerful and friendly, these 15- to 20-pound athletes in the Working Group like to hunt vermin in barns but will happily accept other types of activity. Indeed, they once performed as circus dogs. Sports they enjoy these days include dock diving, agility, and scent work. Bonus: The typical lifespan is 16 to 18 years.
